Ms. Cynthia Solomon Karlin is an experienced trial lawyer who has practiced in the area of criminal defense in the California State courts.
In 1984, Ms. Karlin graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree in History from University of California, Los Angeles. She received her J.D. degree from Loyola Law School in 1989, and she was admitted to the California Bar in California in 1990.
For over 4 years, Ms. Karlin served a Deputy Public Defender in Los Angeles. Ms. Karlin has also been employed in the private sector providing assistance with a variety of civil litigation matters.
In addition, Ms. Karlin has worked in the areas of business planning and property management in Los Angeles since 2009. As such, she has acted as a liaison between tenants, members, accountants, and real estate counsel when addressing owner-tenant and legal issues, including the formation of an LLC. She has also worked with contractors and subcontractors on a variety of construction and interior design projects.
Aside from being an active investor, Ms. Karlin has devoted her attention to many charitable organizations, including Big Sunday, Colburn School, Homeboy Industries, and Friends of Belmont, where she served as CEO, guiding its development into a 501(c)(3) and overseeing a significant charitable gift designated for Belmont High School’s college-bound students. In 2012, Ms. Karlin became a certified college counselor and has provided college counseling assistance to students at Belmont High School, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) and privately to families in Los Angeles. Ms. Karlin lives in Los Angeles and has two children.
